The Target Disaster Response Force (TDRF) is committed to strengthening the capabilities of the people of India with the spirit of “Nation First.”
Target Disaster Response Force (TDRF) is a nationally recognized voluntary disaster management organization committed to strengthening community resilience and emergency preparedness across India. Established in 2005, TDRF operates under the guidance of the Target Disaster & Defence Council (TDDC) and has been actively contributing to disaster risk reduction, capacity building, and humanitarian response.
TDRF focuses on developing a trained and disciplined volunteer force by providing structured training in disaster management, search & rescue, first aid, fire safety, and emergency response systems. The organization works extensively with youth, educational institutions, government bodies, and communities to create a culture of preparedness and rapid response.
With a strong presence in multiple districts, TDRF has successfully trained thousands of volunteers and conducted numerous disaster preparedness programs, mock drills, and awareness campaigns. The organization has also actively participated in real-time emergency situations, including flood relief operations, borewell rescue missions, and community-based disaster response initiatives.
TDRF is committed to supporting national disaster management frameworks by aligning its activities with the guidelines of NDMA, NDRF, and other government agencies. Through continuous training, field engagement, and community outreach, the organization plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between authorities and citizens during emergencies.
Under the dynamic leadership of Founder & Director Shri Harishchandra Badrinath Rathod, TDRF has evolved into a dedicated platform for empowering citizens with life-saving skills and fostering a spirit of service, discipline, and national responsibility.

In June 2013, a devastating disaster struck the state of Uttarakhand, causing heavy loss of lives and leaving many people stranded in life-threatening conditions. During this critical time, Shri Harishchandra Badrinath Rathod, along with the team of Target Disaster Response Force (TDRF), immediately reached Rudraprayag district to assist the affected people. The team actively participated in rescue and relief operations and provided free assistance to displaced and homeless families by distributing food, medicines, and essential relief materials.
In recognition of his remarkable and selfless service, Shri Harishchandra Badrinath Rathod was honored at the Gaurav Samaroh organized by the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha in Delhi, where he received appreciation from Altamas Kabir, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India.
On 31 January 2015, a two-year-old boy named Suraj accidentally fell into a borewell in Nignur village of Umarkhed taluka, Yavatmal district. Demonstrating exceptional courage and determination, Shri Harishchandra Badrinath Rathod led the rescue operation and successfully brought the child out safely after nearly 14 hours of continuous and tireless efforts.

History
Target Disaster Response Force (TDRF) is a disaster management organization dedicated to humanitarian service and community safety.
Shri Harishchandra Badrinath Rathod, Founder of TDRF, was honored at the Gaurav Samaroh organized by the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha in Delhi, where he received recognition from Altamas Kabir, the then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India, for his outstanding contribution to disaster management and social service.
The journey of TDRF began on 9 May 2005, with a vision to promote disaster preparedness and community resilience. The organization was formally registered in 2009.
Shri Harishchandra Rathod devoted himself to the study and practice of various aspects of disaster management and began conducting awareness programs and training sessions for citizens and youth. With the objective of preparing communities to face emergencies, TDRF started providing structured disaster management training in multiple disciplines.
The first official disaster management training program conducted by TDRF was organized on 1 January 2012, marking the beginning of a series of training initiatives aimed at building a disaster-prepared society.
